Transport safety officer

Role and key duties

Transport safety officers encourage the transport industry to self-regulate through accreditation, education, liaison and on road enforcement activities.

Duties may include: investigating breaches of legislation and complaint files; undertaking route surveys; conducting vehicle and load inspections; and escorting over-dimensional loads.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of Year 12 or equivalent (including VCE, VCAL or Certificate II VET sector accreditation).
