Protective Services Officer (PSO)

Role and key duties

Victoria Police"s objective is to deliver a safer Victoria with our partners by providing intelligent and confident policing, focussing on the development of partnerships and working with the community to empower individuals to build a safer Victoria. As a Protective Services Officer you will be responsible for keeping Victorian train stations safe. You will be involved in protecting the community and the hundreds of thousands of people who travel on our railways each day.

Duties may include: mentoring peak hour train services where you will maintain a visible presence and engage with the community; building and maintaining rapport with commuters and the surrounding community; actively patrolling the train platforms, car parks and surrounds; dealing with anti-social behaviour, property damage, alcohol and transport related offences.

Minimum qualification required

VCE or equivalent if under 21 years of age.

Recommended qualification

VCE or equivalent.
