Role and key duties

Victoria Police"s objective is to deliver a safer Victoria with our partners by providing intelligent and confident policing, focussing on the development of partnerships and working with the community to empower individuals to build a safer Victoria. Victoria Police provides a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service to the community.
Duties may include: policing the state's laws and regulations; patrolling the state's streets on foot and in a vehicle; investigating crime and prosecuting offenders; giving evidence before courts; investigating accidents and deaths by unnatural causes; searching for missing persons, escapees and absconders; supervising prisoners and people in custody; providing advice and direction to the public; mediating domestic disputes; keeping the peace at demonstrations and sporting event; assisting in emergencies such as fires, floods , explosions and other disasters; attending road traumas; and conducting community educational programs.
Minimum qualification required
VCE or equivalent if under 21 years of age.
Year 12 or equivalent (including VCE, VCAL or Certificate II VET sector accreditation).
