Scientist/Research officer

Role and key duties

Research officers collect and analyse data or samples for scientific study.

Duties may include: acting as a consultant in the application of specific scientific expertise; carrying out research programs aimed at protecting the health, safety and welfare of the community; providing technical information to the community; carrying out phone conversations with members of the public, organiosation representatives or special interest groups to gather information; conducting research using a variety of sources including the internet, journals and publications, or other relevant literature; collating and writing up the results of their research forstatistical or opublication purposes; and collecting and analysing data or samples for scientific study. 

Minimum qualification required

Completion of a Degree in Applied Science with a major in the field of specialisation.

Degree in Applied Science with a major in the field of specialisation.
