Role and key duties
Cooks prepare and cook food.
Duties may include: checking food to ensure quality; regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment; preparing food for cooking; cooking food by a range of methods ( i.e. baking, braising, frying, roasting or steaming); dividing food into portions and making sure that the food is well presented; and cleaning food preparation areas and equipment.
Minimum qualification required
Completion of an Apprenticeship in Hospitality specialising in Kitchen Operations/Commercial Cookery.
Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery).
