Conservation officer

Role and key duties

Conservation officers examine and evaluate the conservation of museum artefacts, organise systematic inspection of collections and prepare written and photographic reports.


Duties may include: advising on the optimum storage and display conditions; and advising on correct methods for handling and transporting works of art.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of a Degree in Science, Art or Fine Art.

Degree in Science, Art or Fine Art.
