Nurse/midwife division 2 (formerly referred to as enrolled nurse)
Role and key duties
Registered nurses (Division 2) are associates to Division 1 nurses. Division 2 nurses work under the direction and super vision of a Division 1 nurse. All nurses assess, plan, provide and evaluate preventative, curative and rehabilitative care for patients in a wide variety of settings. These include public and private hospitals, residential aged care facilities, the community and home-based services, and industry.
Duties may include: providing physical and technical care and support for patients/clients, providing emotional and psychological support and information to patients/clients and their families; supervising, or carrying out, nursing care; and observing, monitoring, assessing, reporting and documenting patient/client conditions and responses to treatment. Nurses must be authorised to practise by their relevant state or territory registering authority.
Minimum qualification required
Completion of a Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing).
Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) or Diploma in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) or Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing).
