Sonographer

Role and key duties

Sonographers receive and interpret requests from medical practitioners for X-ray examinations and decide on the imaging techniques which will provide diagnostic information for the doctor.

Duties may include: calculating details on length and intensity of exposure to radiation; and explaining procedures to patients.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of a Degree in Science with specialisation in Medical Imaging.

Degree in Science with specialisation in Medical Imaging.
