Role and key duties

Forensic scientists analyse drugs and poisons in human tissue and body fluids, including blood alcohol results.

Duties may include: examining materials and gunshot residues; DNA profiling; and examining crime scenes.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of a Diploma of Public Safety (Forensic Investigations).

Recommended qualification

Degree in Forensic Science.
