Chiropractor

Role and key duties

Chiropractors work with the relationship between the structure and the function of the body to improve health without the use of drugs or surgery.

Duties may include: writing down patients" case history details, conducting physical examinations and interpreting diagnostic imaging studies such as X-rays; adjusting patients" spinal or other joints to correct joint dysfunctions interfering with proper nervous system control and integration of body function;treating patients by adjusting the spinal column to manipulate joints and soft tissues; conducting specialised work such as sports chiropractic, paediatrics, diagnostic imaging or various chiropractic techniques; giving advice on general health matters such as exercise and nutrition; and performing pre-employment examinations and workplace assessments.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of a Degree in Applied Science Complementary Medicine Chiropractic.

Recommended qualification

Degree in Applied Science Complementary Medicine Chiropractic.
