Investigations officer

Role and key duties

Investigations officers investigate complex and sensitive matters of corruption, malpractice and misconduct.

Duties may include: preparing and presenting briefs of evidence for prosecutions at disciplinary hearings; identifying problems; conducting risk assessments and analysing circumstances that may have enabled fraudulent activity and malpractice to occur; developing programs to raise awareness of corporate ethics and the code of conduct; and liaising with, and assisting law enforcement agencies.

Typical qualification sought

Completion of Year 12 or equivalent (including VCE, VCAL or Certificate II VET sector accreditation).
