Role and key duties
Event coordinators are responsible for the project management, creation and development of festivals and events.
Duties may include: negotiating the type and costs of services to be provided, within a budget; consulting with management to make sure adequate staff members are rostered for duty and with catering staff to plan the menu; organising the venue and ensuring that it is appropriately set up, with regard to seating and dÃ?Â©cor; consulting with service providers such as caterers and transport companies; and coordinating staff to make sure that the program of events occurs on time, forexample, the serving of food and refreshments.
Minimum qualification required
Completion of Year 12 or equivalent (including VCE, VCAL or Certificate II VET sector accreditation).
Certificate III in Meetings and Events.
