Role and key duties

Data entry operators input or key in codes necessary to process information for reports, mailing lists, accounts, payrolls, staff records or scientific information.

Duties may include: retrieval, confirmation and updating of data in storage; maintaining databases; and detecting and reporting system malfunctions.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of Year 12 or equivalent (including VCE, VCAL or Certificate II VET sector accreditation).

Recommended qualification

Certificate II, III or IV in Business.
