Strategic town planning (transport)

Role and key duties

Strategic town planners provide strategic land use planning with oversight of projects of strategic importance for land management and rail corridor plans to support government objectives and community needs.

Duties may include: surveying and providing property related advice as well as sales and acquisition projects and land transactions within a strategic framework; analysing strategic transport plans with regard to the broader road network and making recommendations to stakeholders; developing policy; assessment of land use; and stakeholder liaison.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of Year 12 or equivalent (including VCE, VCAL or Certificate II VET sector accreditation).

Recommended qualification

Property related tertiary qualification with an interest in Transport.
