Role and key duties

Property managers are charged with operating a real estate property for a fee, when the owner is unable to personally attend to such details or is not interested in doing so.

Duties may include: discussing the method of sale, presentation of the property, costs and inspection times with vendors (sellers); estimating the current market price and suggesting a reserve or typical selling price; listing details of land or buildings for sale and arranging for the advertising of properties; assessing buyers' needs and locating properties for their consideration; taking prospective buyers to inspect properties, and providing advice on the merits of propertiesand terms of sale; and drawing up legal agreements between vendors and buyers and arranging finance and insurance.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of a Course in Property (Agents' Representatives).

Course in Property (Agents' Representatives).
