Role and key duties
Safety officers promote occupational health and safety and develop safer and healthier ways of working.
Duties may include: inspecting and testing machinery and equipment to make sure they meet safety regulations; making sure personal protective equipment is used according to regulations; ensuring correct storage of dangerous materials; testing work areas for potential hazards; and enforcing health and safety legislation.
Minimum qualification required
Completion of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Health Science.
