Reservoir keeper

Role and key duties

Reservoir keepers operate and maintain headworks systems in accordance with the relevant technical standards to ensure the provision of water supply services to customers.

Duties may include: participation in the operation of headworks structures in accordance with approved procedures; participation in the maintenance of headworks structures, in accordance with the adopted standards and/or ~best industry practice", within the approved programs and procedures; enforcing by-laws as they relate to the Water Act 1989; contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and ensuring that occupational health and safety standards are met; participation in and enhancing a team based working environment; and assisting inimproving the efficiency of the work group and the various operational systems.

Minimum qualification required

Completion of Year 12 or equivalent (including VCE, VCAL or Certificate II VET sector accreditation).

Recommended qualification

A trade qualification and/or a Certificate II or above in Water Industry Operations Resource Management.
