Animal welfare officer
Role and key duties
Animal welfare officers prepare animal food, transport it to feeding areas, clear away animal waste, look after animal enclosures and cages, and move animals between enclosures.
Duties may include: treating animals with insecticide to control insect pests; treating minor injuries; rescuing injured and neglected animals; and reporting serious animal health problems to veterinarians.
Minimum qualification required
Completion of a Diploma in Animal Technology.
